Cuprinol Garden Shades is a decorative wood stain that is available in a wide range of attractive Cuprinol shades, perfect for colouring and protecting garden fence panels, sheds, garden furniture and more.
Cuprinol Garden Shades can be quickly and easily applied with a paint brush or cuprinol spray system. Once applied it dries to a matt finish.
Once applied and dried, Cuprinol shades provides up to 4 years protection to garden fixtures and features.
Cuprinol Fence Paint is suitable for smooth and rough sawn timber making it ideal for a wide range of softwood and hardwood surfaces.
When using Cuprinol Shades, always do a test area first to establish suitability, adhesion and the final finish / colour.
The final finish is dependent on the type and colour of timber being treated and application method so may vary to the colour shown on the tin.
Cuprinol paint should be shaken in the tin or stirred thoroughly before and periodically during use to ensure a consistant colour and finish. If doing a large project and require several tins of Cuprinol Paint, it’s recommended that the tins are emptied into a common container and mixed together to ensure a consistant colour across the whole project.
Cuprinol Garden Shades is touch dry in just 1 hour in dry weather conditions. Allow between 2 to 8 hours between coats depending on air temperature and humidity. On areas subjected to direct contact and wear such as garden furniture, allow at least 2 to 3 days drying time before heavy use and contact with soft furnishings such as chair cushions and table cloths etc.
The use of a suitable wood preservative is recommended on new or freshly stripped wood. The wood preservative should be water based and not contain any wax or oil as this will repel the Cuprinol Shed Paint.
Surfaces to be treated with Cuprinol Garden Paint should be clean, dry and free from all traces of surface contamination including dirt, debris, mould, algae or fungi. If there is evidence of biological matter such as mould, mildew, fungi etc a suitable fungicidal wash or mould and mildew remover should be used first, before applying the wood preservative and finally, Cuprinol wood paint. Be sure to allow the specified drying times between each product used.
